I am excited to announce that, as of July 31st, I will be joining the Society for Science & the Public as its president and CEO as well as publisher of its various media properties including the award-winning magazine Science News. This remarkable organization was founded in 1921 with a mission of promoting the understanding and appreciation of science, and the vital role it plays in human advancement. I am truly honored to be assuming a leadership role in an organization with such a high reputation based on a proud, longstanding record of accomplishment.
With more than 50,000 SSP alumni, comprised of students who have passed through its high level science competitions such as the Intel Science Talent Search, the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and the Broadcom MASTERS, SSP has a community of advocates and supporters that will feed its work and expand its reach for years to come. I am proud to say that I am an SSP Science Talent Search alumna – in many ways this new position brings me full circle.
